Lucy Edwardes
PhD Student
Lucy grew up in Luton, in the South East of England. She did her Integrated Masters Degree in Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Sheffield, spending her fourth year as an Industrial Placement Student at AstraZeneca investigating the biochemical mechanism of action of a target enzyme to inform the drug discovery process. Lucy then worked as a research associate at Artios Pharma, where she developed fluorescence-based biochemical assays to facilitate screening of enzyme targets involved in DNA damage response. Lucy joined the DNA Replication Group in January 2022 as a PhD student to develop a high throughput assay for screening novel DNA replication inhibitors. In her free time, Lucy enjoys running, reading and exploring the outdoors with friends.
