Anne Sekscinska
PhD Student
Anne grew up in Gdansk, Poland. She completed her Bachelor’s with Honours in Artificial Intelligence with a Minor in Bioinformatics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in July 2025. Her final project focused on multi-agent cooperative AI systems in drug discovery. As a Research Assistant in the Centre for Neurogenomics and Cognitive Neuroscience in Amsterdam, she was introduced to AlphaFold modelling and biological image analysis. Anne joined the DNA Replication Group in October 2025 as a PhD student, collaborating with Yuriy Chaban at Diamond Light Source to develop computational approaches to address flexibility and heterogeneity in cryo-EM and to apply them to resolve DNA-protein complexes in DNA licensing. In her free time, enjoys hiking, gaming, rollerblading, crochet, reading, and playing with her two cats.
