This Wellcome Trust funded post involves supporting the research programme in the area of biochemistry. The post holder will have supervisory responsibility for day-to-day co-ordination, running and maintenance of the biochemistry laboratory and equipment, and provide high level technical expertise and advice of relevant laboratory techniques to the study of the mechanisms and structures of eukaryotic DNA replication enzymes and how chromatin organisation is achieved.

New cryo-electron microscope produces first beam

The cryo-electron microscope installed on the Imperial College London Hammersmith Campus produces its first beam, coinciding, fittingly, with the award of the 2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, to Jacques Dubochet, Joachim Franck and Richard Henderson, “for developing cryo-electron microscopy for the high-resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution.”
